Drug Use in Children Use in Newborns & Infants Pediatric Formulation
Fuzeon
(T-20)
Only approved for children 6 years of age and older. For children between the ages of 6 and 16 years, the correct dose is 2 mg per kilogram of body weight, twice a day. Fuzeon is injected, using a hypodermic needle, directly under the skin of the upper arm, outer thigh or abdomen. The dose of Fuzeon should never exceed 90 mg twice a day. Fuzeon is not approved for use in children under 6 years of age. Not available. Because Fuzeon is a peptide, it cannot be swallowed (it will not be absorbed properly by the gut). Both adults and children using Fuzeon must inject the drug.
